This Privacy Policy describes how HideU - Calculator Lock Vault ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information specifically in relation to your use of our mobile application (the "App").

We take your privacy seriously. This App is designed to protect your personal photos, videos, and files by storing them locally on your device in an encrypted or hidden format. We do not collect, store, or transfer your personal files to our servers. All data remains on your device.

1. Information Collection and Use

To provide the App's core functionality—hiding and securing your files—we require specific permissions to access features on your device.

1.1 Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions for specific purposes:

• Camera Access:
  • Purpose:
    1. To allow you to take photos and record videos directly inside the App to be immediately encrypted and stored in the vault.
    2. Intruder Selfie Feature: If enabled, the App attempts to take a photo using the front camera when an incorrect PIN is entered multiple times. This photo is stored locally within the App to help you identify unauthorized access attempts.
  • Data Handling: Photos taken are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit these photos to any external server.
• Storage Access (Manage External Storage / Read & Write):
  • Purpose: required to access the photos, videos, and files you choose to import into the vault. This allows the App to encrypt, hide, and manage these files.
  • Data Handling: Your files are encrypted or moved to a secure location on your device's storage. We do not have access to your files, nor do we upload them to a cloud server.
• Biometric Hardware (Fingerprint/Face ID):
  • Purpose: Used to allow you to unlock the vault quickly and securely using your device's built-in biometric authentication.
  • Data Handling: Biometric authentication is handled entirely by the Android system. The App only receives a "Success" or "Failure" signal; we never access or store your actual biometric data (fingerprint or face data).

1.2 Non-Personal Identification Information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our App. This may include:

• Device name and model
• Operating system version
• App version
• Crash logs (via standard Google Play reporting)

This information is used strictly to improve App performance and fix bugs.

2. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All photos, videos, and files hidden in the App are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud backup service.
• Encryption: The App uses encryption and file hiding techniques to secure your data.
• Data Loss Risk: Since data is stored locally, uninstalling the App or clearing App data may result in the permanent deletion of your hidden files. Using "cleaning" apps or file managers to delete large files may also accidentally delete your encrypted vault data. We strongly recommend backing up your files (unhiding them) before uninstalling the App or switching devices.

3. Intruder Selfie Feature

The Intruder Selfie feature is designed to enhance security. By enabling this feature, you consent to the App taking a photo when an incorrect PIN is entered. Use of this feature must comply with local laws and regulations regarding privacy and surveillance. These photos are stored strictly on your device and are viewable only by you after successfully unlocking the vault.

4. Third-Party Services

Use of the App is subject to the Google Play Store standard policies. While the App itself does not transmit your personal files, it may interact with Android system services and libraries provided by Google.

• Google Play Services: May be used for core system updates and security.

5. Internet Access

The App requests Permission to access the Internet (android.permission.INTERNET). This is used for:

• Loading help/FAQ resources.
• Checking for App updates.
• Standard analytics (e.g., crash reporting) if implemented securely.
• Your hidden files are NEVER uploaded to the internet by this App.

6. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. Since our App does not collect personal user data remotely, this extends to all users. Parents are advised to monitor their children's use of mobile applications.
